STRANDED Scoring and the Nine Endings, Explained
STRANDED runs in a game frame on this site and has one of the least obvious scoring systems. Here is how six questions turn into one of nine endings.

One run is six questions and 3,000 points
A run is six questions, and the total at the end of a full run tops out at 3,000. That means the average question is worth 500 points, which is the important part: a single brilliant answer does not decide your run, and a single bad one does not destroy it. You need consistency, not one lucky guess.
Rarer answers are worth more
Every answer is scored by how few other people gave it. If most players typed "shoe" and you type "flip-flop", your answer is worth several times as much. The counter in the top-left corner climbs as you go, and the gap between the top scorers and the rest is wide enough that a run is very much worth playing properly.
Nine endings, decided by the total
There are nine different endings and the one you get is decided by your final score out of 3,000. They are not cosmetic variations you unlock over a season — they are the reward for a single good run. A run you finish in a hurry and a run you think properly about end differently.
The clock is short on purpose
Each question gives you a little over twenty seconds, and you get one answer. There is no second guess, and a wrong answer costs you the seconds rather than the run. Before you type, spend two of those seconds deciding the category the prompt is asking for — most of the points come from being in the right category, not from finding the single most obscure word inside it.
Where to watch the score
On the gameplay screen, SCORE is at the upper left and the run number at the upper right. Below the forest scene, the question count and countdown show how far through the six-question run you are. Watch the running total, rather than judging the run by one answer.
What the screenshot confirms
The screenshot shows the first of six prompts and a 21-second countdown beside the alien in the woods. It is a useful visual check if you are trying to distinguish STRANDED from the other rarity games on this site.
