Cosmillion Scoring: How +10 Becomes +100
Cosmillion shows you its own scoring on the prompt screen, which is more than most daily games do. The example it gives is "Name a fruit": Apple scores +10, and Jabuticaba scores +100. That gap is the whole game.

The gap between +10 and +100 is the point
The obvious answer is worth very little because everybody else thought of it too. The full hundred points go to an answer that is still obviously a fruit but that almost nobody would have reached for. You are not trying to be correct and you are not trying to be clever — you are trying to be correct and unusual at the same time, and that is a much narrower target than it sounds.
Pick the category first, then go unusual
Before you type anything, name the category out loud: "fruit", "something with a foot but no toes", "a name for a boat". Once the category is settled, look for a member of it that the crowd skipped. A fruit most people have never heard of beats a weird word that might not even fit the prompt.
Seven questions, twenty-five seconds each
A day is seven prompts and each one comes with a 25-second clock. That is a little under three minutes for the whole run, so the format rewards deciding quickly. Read the prompt, pick the category, pick the member — do not start writing a paragraph.
The rocket tells you how you did
Your rocket climbs as you go, and the height it reaches is the readout of how rare your answers were. A run that barely leaves the pad means you kept answering with the crowd. If the rocket is climbing steadily, you are doing it right.
Read the example before launch
The start screen states seven questions per day and 25 seconds for each. Its fruit example is the clearest scoring key: Apple earns +10 while Jabuticaba earns +100. Use that range as a guide to the kind of answer the game rewards.
Keep the answer defensible
When two possibilities come to mind, prefer the less common one only if it plainly fits the prompt. A rare word outside the category cannot help the rocket. This is a game of finding overlooked examples, not merely unusual words.
